When Do Air Fryers Go on Sale?
There are four dated windows a year and we can name them. But the biggest price drops in this category have nothing to do with the calendar — they follow new model launches.

Four windows a year, and the next one is Black Friday on November 27, 2026, running into Cyber Monday on November 30. Amazon's own two events in 2026 were Prime Day, June 23–26 — four days, moved earlier than its usual July slot — and Prime Big Deal Days, October 6–7, a 48-hour Prime-only event that has already closed for this year. But the honest answer to this question is that the calendar is the smaller effect. What actually drops an air fryer's price and keeps it down is a new model landing above it. The Ninja AF101, released in November 2018, sits near the bottom of our price ladder every day of the year because Ninja has launched several generations over it since — not because anything is on sale. The Cosori TWINFRY, released in July 2026, sits near the top for the same reason in reverse. So the useful strategy is not waiting for a date; it is buying a machine that is one generation back. Prices below are pulled live from Amazon and carry the date they were checked.

The four windows, with dates
These are the events Amazon publishes itself, which is the only reason we will put dates on them:
- Prime Day — June 23 to 26, 2026. Four days rather than the two it ran for years, and notably earlier than the usual July slot. Prime members only.
- Prime Big Deal Days — October 6 to 7, 2026.Amazon's press release puts it at 48 hours, from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 to 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7, across more than 35 categories, framed as the start of holiday shopping. Prime members only. This one has closed for 2026.
- Black Friday — November 27, 2026. Thanksgiving falls on November 26 this year, so the Friday is the 27th. In practice Amazon and most major retailers run a Black Friday week rather than a day.
- Cyber Monday — November 30, 2026. The Monday after.
Outside those, the recurring US retail promotional weekends are Presidents Day in February, Memorial Day in late May, Fourth of July, and Labor Day in early September. Those are retailer events rather than Amazon ones, and in this category they move prices less than the four above.
We are not going to tell you how much anything will be discounted in any of those windows, because nobody knows that in advance and the honest version of this page cannot pretend otherwise. Our live Black Friday and Cyber Monday coverage is Black Friday kitchen appliance deals, which shows what is actually discounted when the window is open and says so plainly when nothing is.
The thing that moves prices more than the calendar
Air fryers are a mature category with fast model turnover, and that produces a far more reliable price effect than any sale date: when a maker launches a successor, the previous model's price falls and stays there. It does not bounce back after the weekend.
You can read it straight off the release dates in our catalog, which come from the manufacturers' own listings:
- Ninja AF101 — released November 30, 2018. Nearly eight years old, still sold, still the machine we rank first on value, and consistently one of the cheapest basket air fryers we track. Ninja has shipped DualZone and pod-format machines above it in the years since.
- Ninja SP101 — September 2019, and Ninja Foodi DualZone DZ201 — September 2020. Both superseded within their own ranges, both priced well below the machines that replaced them.
- Cosori Pro LE — August 2021, which sits below the Cosori TurboBlaze — November 2023 in price, which in turn sits below the Cosori TWINFRY — July 2026. Three generations, three price tiers, same brand, no sale involved.
- Ninja Crispi — December 2024. Two years old, still carrying a new-format premium.
The practical consequence: a machine one generation back is permanently on sale. If what you want is a low price on a good air fryer, the release date is a better filter than the calendar, and you can buy today. Where each of these lands on specs is in air fryer brands compared and best air fryers under $100.
How to tell a discount is real
A struck-through "was" price is not a verified fact about what anything used to cost. It can reflect a list price the item rarely sold at, or a brief price increase before an event. Three checks that cost you nothing:
- Compare against the price, not the percentage. Forty percent off a number nobody paid is not a saving. The figure that matters is the one you are being asked for today.
- Check the model, not the brand. Sale listings in this category are often an older or lower-spec variant of a popular model — a different basket size, fewer programs, a coated basket instead of a ceramic one. Our size guide and ceramic roundup are the quickest way to spot the swap.
- Look at the date on the price.Every price on this site carries an "as of" stamp, and if our daily check has not run inside 48 hours the numbers disappear rather than go stale. That is deliberate: a missing price is honest and a rotted one is not.
Where to buy once you have decided, including the retailers other than Amazon, is where to buy an air fryer.
Whether waiting is worth it at all
Run the arithmetic before you defer a purchase for three months. A mid-range basket air fryer uses a published 1,500 to 1,800 watts and costs a couple of cents a batch to run — the full numbers are in air fryer electricity cost. What it saves is oven time, and running a full-size oven for a tray of chips costs several times what the air fryer does. If you cook four or five times a week, three months of waiting has a real cost on the other side of the ledger.
Two cases where waiting genuinely is right:
- You want a specific premium machine. The gap between a Breville, a Typhur or a large oven-style unit and its sale price is a meaningful number of dollars. The gap on an entry basket machine is not.
- You are buying it as a gift for December. Then the calendar is already telling you when to buy, and Black Friday week is inside your window. Our gift brackets are best kitchen gifts under $100 and best kitchen gifts under $150.
And one case where waiting is clearly wrong: your current machine has a failing coating. That is a replace-now situation, not a wait-for-November one — see air fryer coating coming off and how long do air fryers last.
What to buy if you are not waiting
- Ninja AF101 — the best illustration of this whole page. A 4-quart machine from 2018 with a ceramic-coated basket, a published 1,550 watts, a 105–400°F range and four programs, still sold new and still the value pick. Our AF101 review has the detail.
- Dash Compact — 2 quarts, the smallest machine we track, with an auto shut-off and a cool-touch handle. The cheapest honest way into the format; our Dash Compact review covers what you give up, and the field is best small air fryers.
- Cosori TurboBlaze — the 2023 generation, which is exactly the one-generation-back position this page recommends: a PFAS-free ceramic basket, a published 90–450°F range, a 3,600 rpm fan and a 2-year warranty, now priced below the 2026 TWINFRY above it. See the TurboBlaze review.
If you have not settled on a machine yet, start with the air fryer buying guide, and if you are still weighing whether to buy one at all, are air fryers worth it is the honest read.
Frequently asked questions
When do air fryers go on sale?
Four windows a year. Amazon's own events in 2026 were Prime Day from June 23 to 26 and Prime Big Deal Days on October 6 and 7, both Prime-member-only. The next window is Black Friday on November 27, 2026, running through Cyber Monday on November 30. Retailer weekends around Presidents Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day also run promotions, though they move this category less.
What is the best time of year to buy an air fryer?
Black Friday week, if you want to shop a dated event — it is the deepest and broadest of the four windows and it lands conveniently before December. But the bigger and more reliable effect is model turnover: a machine one generation back is permanently cheaper, with no event required, so you can usually buy well today rather than wait.
When is Prime Big Deal Days 2026?
It ran on October 6 and 7, 2026. Amazon's press release put it at 48 hours, from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 to 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7, across more than 35 categories, and framed it as the start of holiday shopping. It is a Prime-member event and it has closed for this year.
When is Black Friday 2026?
November 27, 2026. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday November 26 this year, so Black Friday is the following day and Cyber Monday is November 30. In practice Amazon and most large retailers run promotions across the whole week rather than on the single day.
Should I wait for a sale to buy an air fryer?
Usually not, for an entry or mid-range machine. The discount on a cheap basket air fryer is small, and in the meantime you are heating a full-size oven for jobs the air fryer does for a couple of cents. Waiting does make sense for a specific premium machine, where the dollar gap is meaningful, or if you are buying a December gift anyway.
Do air fryers get cheaper when a new model comes out?
Yes, and this is the most dependable price effect in the category. The Ninja AF101 released in November 2018 is still sold new and is still one of the cheapest basket machines we track, because several Ninja generations have shipped above it. Cosori's Pro LE from 2021, TurboBlaze from 2023 and TWINFRY from 2026 form a three-tier price ladder from the same brand with no sale involved.
How do I know an air fryer discount is genuine?
Judge the price you are being asked for rather than the percentage off, because a struck-through was-price is not a verified record of what the item sold for. Check the exact model too, since sale listings are often an older or lower-spec variant. And check the date on the price: every price on this site carries an as-of stamp and disappears entirely if our daily check has not run within 48 hours.
